G.A.S is located four blocks east of the train station and the Mid-Hudson Bridge, one block west of the Mid Hudson Civic Center and six blocks south of the Walkway Over the Hudson G.A.S. is an acronym for Gallery and Studio.   G.A.S. is an artist-owned and operated multi-media gallery, which presents solo and group exhibitions of a wide variety of contemporary art. Our monthly shows include cutting edge, experimental and unorthodox paintings, sculpture, photographs, prints, and installations, as well as computer and functional art. G.A.S. is also a venue for musical performances and video and film screenings, as well as poetry slams and performance art. We host panel discussions, slide talks, lectures and other culturally varied events on a regular basis. G.A.S. artists are a diverse group who live and work in the mid-Hudson valley.   The goal of G.A.S. is to present bold, challenging and ambitious exhibitions and performances that will simultaneously engage, entertain and enlighten the general public.  G.A.S. (Gallery and Studio) is an artist owned and operated multi media gallery and performance space presenting solo and group shows on a variety of contemporary art in downtown Poughkeepsie, NY since May 2007.  We have been reviewed in numerous regional publications which include The New York Times,Chronogram, Hudson Valley Magazine, Poughkeepsie Journal, Taconic Press, Beacon Press, Artworks, Weekly Beat, Almanac, Dutchess County Magazine, WKIP –FM Radio , HV Biz ,Time Warner Cable TV and Cablevision.     Google Map
